Microsoft inspire has been taking place in Las Vegas and during the keynote, Microsoft announced 3 new Azure certifications. One for Azure Developers, one for Azure Administrators, and one for Azure Architects. Microsoft has actually released the beta exams for the Azure Administrator certificate. You can read more about them on the Microsoft learning blog.
Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator
To gain this certificate you have two routes. The first route is for anyone starting out with Azure. To gain the certificate using this route you will need to sit two exams. They are:
• AZ-100: Microsoft Azure Infrastructure and Deployment
• AZ-101: Microsoft Azure Integration and Security
If you have already taken and passed the 70-533 Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure exam then you can choose the second route, the transition route. This consists of one exam, which is actually both of the above combined into one which is called:
• AZ-102: Microsoft Azure Administrator Certification Transition
In another article, I will be posting a list of what you need to learn to hopefully pass the AZ-102 exam. I will update here with a link once it is published.
The other Exams
At the moment there is not much information regarding the other exams. I am lead to believe that the Azure Developer exam is still being worked on and may even have DevOps related content. As for the Azure Architects exam. I am lead to believe it will be out soon. Just don’t quote me on this. It’s only my speculation.
